If you’re bored in a house, you miss hanging out with your friends and it’s CO-VID 19 season, hosting a party could be the answer.

As my friends call me the party animal, I had to find a way to host a party during this current crisis to hype my Friday nigh up. This time, I wanted my party to be as much inclusive as possible and I thought it’s not that bad of an idea to invite people from different parts of the world to join. And it worked. True that I had to spend 0 money on it, and the best part of it all, that it went even better than a real-life physical party.
If you want to host an online party and have no clue on how to start, here’s how I did it.

Pick a Suitable Platform
The first thing that you will need is your party location. There are a lot of virtual platforms that offer free options and trials to outfit any event you’re planning to do. To be honest, I was looking for something that’s new in terms of features and at the same time easy to use. I stumbled upon Ovice through a friend of mine and I found out that it matches perfectly with the criteria that I’m looking for.

The fact that you could move around anywhere you want and talk to whoever you want just by getting close to them or even choosing to leave a people circle when the topic doesn’t grab your interest by just getting far away from them was the deal breaker for me!
Some people chose to mute their mics and chat instead because they had some noise around them, which was really considerate and it made the party sound less like a school bus.

You won’t be needing to waste money and print flyers this time. All you have to do first is to give your party a catchy name and a rule. For example, since it’s not usual for people to party online, so your party name could be “ Party Outside the Box “, and you could set a rule that if someone refuses to sing at the karaoke area, they’d have to take a shot at the bar.

You could just text your guests the link to the party, but creating a personalized party invitation will build enthusiasm in your guests and make them look forward to assisting.
- How Many People to Invite
I personally like huge parties. What I’ve thought about first, is if I’m going to invite more than 100 people, the service of the website I’ll be using should stay stable, so no one experiences any technical issues during the party. We all know it’s the most annoying thing! Luckily, I took my time to read over reviews and ask a lot to make sure that Ovice could handle a big number of people trolling around everywhere and IT DID. Eventually, 150 people attended the party and no one complained a bit.
